Beijing Subway 北京地铁:
Line 2 二号线
Line 2 of the Beijing Subway is also known as the Loop Line. The route of this subway line follows the path of the former Beijing city wall in a rough rectangle around the city center. The southern half of the circle, between Beijing Railway Station and Fuxingmen, was part of the original line of the Beijing Subway that was originally opened in 1969. The rest of the line was completed in 1984. Line 2 intersects with Line 1 at Fuxingmen and Jianguomen, with Line 5 at Chongwenmen and Yonghegong Lama Temple, and with Line 13 at Xizhimen and Dongzhimen.
Rolling stock on Line 2 is fairly uniform, with the DK16 trainsets providing the bulk of service on the line. Almost all of the DK16 trainsets have been repainted in silver and blue, and a number have been fitted with LED information screens, automated announcements, and refurbished car interiors. Several newer BD1 trainsets also can be found on Line 2, similar to the BD2s on Line 1. Line 2's rolling stock maintenance facility is located at Taipinghu, close to Jishuitan station.
