CT Transit, a division of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, is a statewide transit agency for the much of the state of Connecticut. CT Transit provides bus service via contract providers for seven different metropolitan areas throughout Connecticut, which are listed below:
- CT Transit Hartford, the largest division serving the capital city of Hartford and its environs.
- CT Transit New Haven, serving New Haven and its nearby suburbs.
- CT Transit Stamford, serving the Stamford area in the southwestern corner of the state.
- CT Transit Waterbury, serving the city of Waterbury and its surroundings. This division does not operate on Sunday.
- CT Transit New Britain and CT Transit Bristol, both serving the general central Connecticut area. These divisions do not operate on Sunday.
- CT Transit Meriden, serving the city of Meriden with three routes.
- CT Transit Wallingford, a single route in the city of Wallingford.
The CT Transit fleet currently features MCI and NovaBUS Classics, MCI D4500s, New Flyer D40HFs, New Flyer D40LFs, New Flyer DE40LFs, NovaBUS RTSs, and El Dorado EZ-Riders. There is also one fuel cell-powered Van Hool newA330 in demonstration at CT Transit Hartford.
