Shore Line East

Shore Line East, a subsidiary of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, is a diesel commuter rail line serving southeastern Connecticut. It provides daily service along the Northeast Corridor between New London and New Haven, with rush hour trains continuing to Bridgeport and Stamford. Shore Line East currently operates with a number of rehabilitated Mafersa coaches purchased secondhand from Virginia Railway Express, which are primarily pulled by EMD GP40-2H locomotives.
