NJT currently operates a fleet of 85 Neoplan AN-459 articulated buses. These buses are virtually identical to the standard Neoplan AN-460, but NJT's are one foot shorter (hence the AN-459 designation) in order to comply with New Jersey's axle-load requirements.

The Neoplan AN-459s are numbered in both the 9500 and 9600 series, with the former featuring transit-style seating configurations and the latter with suburban seating.
