TMC RTS (ex-Triboro Coach)

Triboro was one of the two New York City operators of the CNG RTS (the other being Command Bus.) Triboro's CNG RTS fleet had hard seats and were used exclusively on local routes within Queens.

The CNG RTS buses remained in service for a significant amount of time after the MTA Bus takeover. Following the closure of LaGuardia Depot's CNG facility, all of Triboro's CNG RTSs were moved to Spring Creek Depot where they were put into service on the B100 and B103 routes. However all CNG RTSs were eventually replaced with new Orion VII hybrid buses.

In addition to the CNG RTSs, Triboro also operated a fleet of diesel RTSs similar to those at Queens Surface, Jamaica, and Green. These have mostly been retained by MTA Bus and continue to operate in Queens, some in the MTA blue and white livery.

  • Notes: While under Triboro, then-#2815 was the pilot bus for Triboro's "lightning stripe" paint scheme. It is the only bus to feature the "V" stripes on the front; all other buses in this scheme feature horizontal red and silver stripes.
