MTA New York City Transit (Bus):
2007 Holiday Vintage Buses
In December 2007, New York City Transit put five of its museum buses into regular service on Manhattan's M34, M42 and M50 crosstown bus routes. The buses in question were #100, #4727 (not pictured), #2151, #5117, and #7340. These vehicles, dating from the 1950s to the 1970s, were equipped with modern fareboxes and given a light overhaul before entering service.
In addition to the in-service buses, NYCT also displayed two museum double-deckers (#1263, aka "Betsy" and #2124 aka "Queen Mary") at prominent Manhattan locations for public viewing. However, these buses were not able to be operated in revenue service due to various limitations.
