MCI 102-DLW3SS / D4500

These over-the-road coaches, collectively known as the "MCI Commuter Cruisers", were built by Motor Coach Industries between 1998 and 2002. They provide the vast majority of service on NYCT's express routes (suburban Orion Vs provide the rest.)

2006 (1998) features an alternative paint scheme not seen on the rest of the MCIs.

2185 (2001) was badly damaged in the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks upon the World Trade Center; however, it was repaired, cleaned up, and repainted with an American flag paint scheme on its sides and a "9/11/2001: Never Forget" graphic on its rear (photos below.) This bus often makes an appearance at the annual NYCT Bus Roadeos and Bus Festivals, and can be seen in service twice daily on the X28 express route.
