New Flyer D60HF

The New Flyer D60HF "Galaxy" buses were ordered between 1996 and 2004 and were NYCT's first articulated buses, featuring Detroit Diesel Series 50 engines. Unlike many cities' choices, the NYCT D60HFs were ordered with only one entrance door and one exit door and this has proven to inhibit passenger flow and increased dwell times at stops. The earlier buses feature flipdot destination signs, though the newer orders feature Luminator Horizon orange LED signs.

The D60HF bus order has been terminated due to disagreements between NYCT and New Flyer; New Flyer will not manufacture high-floor articulated buses while NYCT refuses to purchase the New Flyer D60LF low-floor bus.
